The morning that our daughter Kelli died tragically in an accident on her way to school is one we will never forget for several reasons. Kelli left the house at 6:18 and we found out that she was in an accident at 11:00. She died at 6:29. Why did it take so long for us to be informed? The reason is because the authorities did not have up to date information. The school only had our land line that we no longer used. The plates were registered to our previous address. Who was the person in this car? Kelli's license was in her purse that burnt in the fire. By the grace of God, they found her license and were able to read the address on it. That's when they learned that it was a 17 year old child in the car. That is when the State Highway Patrol was able to come to our home.

Why am I telling you this information? I have learned that anyone can go to http://bmv.ohio.gov and submit Next Of Kin Emergency Contact Information so in the event they are involved in an accident or emergency leaving them unable to communicate with law enforcement or emergency medical responders, the person(s) they choose to be notified can be.
